New partnership aims to create more opportunities for young people in Bradford
14 July 2026
Children, young people and families across Bradford are set to benefit from an exciting new partnership between StreetGames and Active Bradford.
The partnership will help create more opportunities for young people to get active, have fun and shape the activities available in their communities. Two exciting programmes will be at the heart of the partnership which supports future leaders and gives young people a voice.
Following the success of the first JU:MP Leads programme, more young women and girls will have the chance to develop leadership skills and become champions for physical activity in their local communities. JU:MP Leads helps participants build confidence, learn new skills and inspire others to get moving. The first group of leaders has already made a real difference in their communities, creating opportunities for more children and families to be active.
The partnership will also support 1,000 Young Voices Bradford, a project that puts young people’s ideas and experiences at the centre of decisions about sport and physical activity. The initiative gives young people the chance to share what activities they enjoy, what barriers they face and what opportunities they’d like to see in their local area. Their feedback will help shape future activities, funding and resources across the district.
At the launch event, held at the Mayfield Centre in Bradford, young people, community organisations and partners came together to celebrate the new partnership and share ideas about the role sport and physical activity can play in improving lives. The event highlighted the power of listening to young people and working together to create more opportunities for children, families and communities to move more and enjoy being active.
Kammy Siddique, Operations Director at Active Bradford, said: “We’re delighted to be working with StreetGames on this exciting partnership. By investing in youth leadership and giving young people a stronger voice, we can create even more opportunities for children and young people across the district to take part in physical activity and sport.”
Ian Hepplewhite, StreetGames’ Place Director for Yorkshire and North East, said: “We’re proud to be working alongside Active Bradford to give young people the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about the activities they want in their communities. By listening to their voices, we can help create opportunities that are inclusive, accessible and designed with young people in mind.”
