JU:MP Engages Local Residents at BiBBS Programme Finale
19 August 2024
Last week, the JU:MP team helped mark the end of the BiBBS (Born in Bradford’s Better Start) programme with a lively community event the Grange Interlink Community Centre. The event attracted numerous families, particularly primary school children, who were able to experience some of the work being delivered by JU:MP in North Bradford.
The event featured a ‘school-style’ fun day, where children and parents participated in various engaging activities, with the JU:MP team on hand to interact with families, demonstrating the many benefits of physical activity.
“The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community and showcase what JU:MP has to offer,” said Sam Bacon, Director of Active Bradford and JU:MP. “It was heartening to see so many families come together to learn more about how we can support their children.”
Run by the wider Born in Bradford (BiB) study, the BiBBS programme is a birth Cohort study that aims to understand the effects of early-life interventions on children’s health and development. By engaging directly with the local community, JU:MP aims to help children and families in Bradford to move and play more.
The successful event underscores JU:MP’s commitment to engaging directly with the local community and promoting active, healthy lifestyles for children. As the programme continues, the team looks forward to further engaging with local residents and helping to build a brighter future for the next generation.
