With a focus on promoting positive experiences of play, the JU:MP team has run over 40 school and community Fun Days, where families and children take part in fun and simple activities, like hopscotch and hoops, at their local school or park. As part of the Fun Day families join the JU:MP movement, and are asked to make a promise – to do an activity of their choice, for a chance to win an amazing prize.

After receiving many amazing promises, we are delighted to announce that Terri and Mason, aged 10, are our winners! It was a difficult decision, but their idea, which was to walk 2.4 miles everyday to and from school and to go on long walks through parks and reservation sites, really captured the essence of bringing back movement and play as a family.

Mum, Terri said: “I am so shocked to have won something. We never win anything! It’s going to make such a big difference because it’s just in time for the summer. We’ve really enjoyed our walks together and are getting into a better daily routine by trying to do it everyday, just to move a bit more and feel better. Mason’s is absolutely buzzing – I’m gobsmacked.”

To try out the Go Kart, the family took it to Lister Park, which has many outstanding features, including inspiring Mughal Water gardens, botanical gardens and the magnificent Cartwright Hall.

JU:MP Programme Director, Jan Burkhardt said: “Bradford is a great place to go as a family. It has 44 parks from formal Victorian parks to amazing wild moorlands. There are also lots of brilliant green space developments that JU:MP are working alongside the Council, across Bradford. Kashmir Park was recently transformed into a lovely play area, with a focus on ‘natural play’, as well as providing a safe place for families to meet outside together.”

Mason said: “It’s brilliant! Lister Park has loads of room and long paths to go up and down in my new Go Kart. I’m going to take it to different places and see where it goes the fastest over summer.”

If you would like to be entered into our autumn prize draw, and be in with a chance to win our next JU:MP fun and active prize giveaway, join the JU:MP movement and you’ll receive a newsletter where you can share your promise with the JU:MP team.
